Where you stand now is the resting place of the Heartlands Lady. Many call her the Heart of the Heartlands. She was loved, respected and cherished when living. She is honoured and worshipped by all who know her story after her death.
Once a woman living in peace. Kind, generous, caring...But when real tragedy stroke this land stood her ground. Helped the innocents. Protected the vulnerable. When the enemy came through smoke and fire she was still there. Brave as a thousand men and courageous, fighting for freedom.
When she fell, those she saved returned home again and promised they shall never forget her.
The legend has it that at nights without stars she guides those that loose their way by shinning bright and showing them the right path.
Locals now bring the sculls of their loved ones. If the person was honourable, their scull will stay by her, becoming one with the Heart of the Heartlands and the rose and violet flowers that grow at her feet. It is a long tradition now so that none ever forgets her...as they promised
